COTR WVB Sign new Middle Blocker from Lethbridge for 2025-26 season

College of the Rockies is excited to announce the signing of Isla Roden, a 6'0" middle blocker from Lethbridge, Alberta, for the 2025-26 women's volleyball season.

Roden, currently a Grade 12 student at Catholic Central High School, will play her final club season with the Lethbridge Volleyball Club Jr. Kodiaks U18 team. She had an impressive senior year on the court, earning a First Team All-Star league award and her team's MVP after leading them to a bronze medal at the zone championships. Isla will enroll in the health sciences program at the College of the Rockies.

Isla shared that her decision to join COTR was influenced by her positive experience at the High-Performance camp in August. "I felt instantly drawn to the environment, the people, and the values of this team," she said. "Coach Bryan's enthusiasm also made this decision really easy. I'm looking forward to developing as an athlete and growing as a person with the team Coach Bryan has created. I'm very excited to be part of this program!"

Bryan Fraser, head coach of the women's volleyball team, expressed his excitement about Isla joining the Avalanche program. "We're really excited that Isla has chosen College of the Rockies to begin her post-secondary volleyball career," he said. "She has a lot of potential and a great attitude toward the game. Her drive and passion for volleyball will make her a great fit with our team and the culture we're building here. We can't wait to see her grow as a player in the PACWEST."
