This upcoming season marks Coach Cisco Farrero’s 9th as Head Coach of the College of the Rockies Men’s volleyball program.

 

Over his 8 seasons at the helm of the Avalanche Cisco’s regular season record is 75-72 with a playoff record of 5-7.  Cisco has led the Avalanche Men’s program to three consecutive PACWEST Bronze Medals (2023/22, 2022/23, 2023/24), and most recently won the PACWEST Silver Medal in 2024-25, earning the men's team a spot at the CCAA Nationals for the first time in program history where the brought home a National Bronze Medal!

 

Cisco was named the PACWEST Coach of the Year in 2022/23 and 2023/24. He was also named the CCAA Coach of the Year in 2023/24. 

 

Prior to College of the Rockies Cisco was the Head Coach of the Men’s Volleyball program at Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland from 2015-2017. He was also an assistant coach with the Memorial women’s volleyball team for the 2014-15 season.  Coach Farrero started his coaching career with the Lakeland College Rustlers women’s team in Lloydminster, Alberta as an assistant coach from 2008-2014, where in 2013 the Rustlers won ACAC and CCAA silver medals.

 

Cisco is originally from Meacham, Saskatchewan and played club baseball and volleyball as a youth. He was a member of Team Sask volleyball and attended the University of Saskatchewan. In the off-season Cisco is a professional fishing guide.

 

Cisco is proud to lead the COTR MVB program and looks forward to the challenges this upcoming season brings.
