College of the Rockies Avalanche Welcome Back Dylan Annala and Julius Molnar

The College of the Rockies Men's Avalanche volleyball team is proud to announce the return of two key former players: 4th-year Opposite Dylan Annala and 2nd-year Middle Julius Molnar.

Annala, who played with the Avs from 2021 to 2024, returns following a standout collegiate career. Over 154 sets, the 6'6" Opposite tallied 328 kills, 43 aces, 82 blocks, and 166 digs. He earned PACWEST All-Rookie Team honours in his first season and was named a PACWEST First Team All-Star in 2023–24.

"What it means to be an Av again is to be back with my best friends, my brothers, and my family," said Annala. "It's to be a piece of the top team in the PACWEST with unfinished business. COTR continues to improve year after year and I'm looking forward to being a part of Avalanche men's volleyball again."

Joining him is Julius Molnar, a Cranbrook local who returns to the Avalanche roster after taking a year away from the sport. Entering his second year of eligibility, the 6'4" dynamic middle brings energy and hometown pride back to the court.

"Returning to the Avs for me means being a part of a respectable athletic program that can compete at the highest level," said Molnar. "It means I get to return to being part of a great group of teammates that share a common goal of striving for success."

Head coach Cisco Farrero expressed excitement about their return:
"Both Dylan and Julius are strong players that have made a significant impact in the PACWEST before, and their return to our program makes us better. Both of them are high-level athletes who care a lot about their teammates and what it means to be a member of the Avs. They also have academic goals that align with COTR programming and are motivated to succeed in the classroom as well as on the court. I look forward to challenging them to grow in all facets of their student-athlete life and believe they are great fits for our roster as we pursue high goals next season."

The Avalanche are coming off a successful 2024–25 season, capturing the CCAA National Bronze Medal. With the return of Annala and Molnar, the team is well-positioned to build on that momentum heading into the new season.
