COTR Women's Volleyball Program Sign new Setter from Prince Albert for 2025-26 season

The College of the Rockies Women's Avalanche Volleyball Team is excited to announce the signing of Cate Rapin, a 5-foot-7 setter from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Cate will join the team for the 2025-2026 season. She is currently a Grade 12 student at École St. Mary High School and plays for the U18 Grizz club team in Saskatoon.

Cate has been playing on her high school's senior girls' volleyball team since Grade 9, earning a 5A provincial silver medal and a 5A provincial gold medal. She will play her final season with the U18 Grizz before beginning her post secondary volleyball career with the Av's.

Cate shared her excitement about joining the team: "I'm excited to be joining the Avalanche Women's Team next year. After attending a High Performance camp, visiting the team, and meeting with Coach Bryan, I'm confident this is the best place for me to continue playing the sport I love. I'm looking forward to everything the team, school, and the Cranbrook community have to offer. Go Avs!"

Coach Bryan expressed his confidence in Cate's abilities, saying, "Cate is a great addition to our team. She has strong game management skills and is eager to improve as a setter. Her work ethic and volleyball IQ will help her succeed in the PACWEST. We're also excited to have another student with big academic goals joining our program."

Cate will study Education at the College of the Rockies while playing for the Avalanche.
