College of the Rockies Avalanche sign middle blocker out of Mission

College of the Rockies' women's Avalanche volleyball program has signed Langa Indseth, a 6 ft middle blocker from Mission, B.C. for the 2021/2022 season.

Indseth is currently a grade 12 student at Ecole Mission Secondary and, inspired by her father's high school playing experience, has been competing in volleyball since the sixth grade. She has participated in gold medal volleyball camps and was named Most Improved Junior female athlete in grade 10.  Her high school team finished seventh in senior girls AAAA division at provincials in her grade 11 year. She also enjoys singing and playing piano.

"I chose College of the Rockies for the amazing opportunity to learn and grow," Indseth said. "I love playing volleyball and continuing after high school was something that I dreamed of. Being a part of the College's women's volleyball program will be an incredible experience and will help me continue to improve as a player. I'm excited to learn from my coaches and teammates and I can't wait for the 2021/22 season to start."

Indseth will balance her commitment to the team with studies in the College's Social Work pre-major program.

"Langa has been on my radar for some time," said Bryan Fraser, Avalanche women's volleyball coach. "She is an excellent athlete and has a strong desire to improve and develop as a middle blocker. I have very high expectations for her in the coming years because of both her athletic abilities and her passion to learn and enhance her skills. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with her, she will be a valuable member of the Avalanche women's program."

All PACWEST intercollegiate competition has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. College of the Rockies' Avalanche players continue to train in anticipation of the return of competitive action.
