College of the Rockies Avalanche sign former female athlete of the year

College of the Rockies women's Avalanche have signed Dani Bryant, a five ft. six in libero from Lethbridge, Alberta.

As a part of a successful volleyball program in Lethbridge, Bryant was named Second Team All-star for the Southern Alberta High School Volleyball League (2017) and Female Athlete of the Year for Chinook High School (2018). She was chosen for the Zone 1 beach volleyball team for the 2016 Alberta Summer Games and earned two consecutive gold medals (2015-16) and a silver medal (2017) in the Southern Alberta Summer Games for beach volleyball.

"Dani has achieved tremendous personal and team accolades for her indoor and beach volleyball career and we're thrilled to have her joining our women's volleyball program," said women's Avalanche coach John Swanson. "In meeting Dani, I was instantly impressed with her comprehension of the game and knew she was ready to challenge herself at the collegiate level."

Currently a student at the University of Lethbridge, Dani will be enrolling in the University Studies: Arts and Sciences program at the College, allowing her to continue to work toward a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree.

"College of the Rockies is a beautiful school and has a great volleyball program," Bryant said. "I'm looking forward to seeing what opportunities will arise as I begin my journey as a student athlete."
