College of the Rockies Avalanche Sign Kamloops Outside Hitter

College of the Rockies' Avalanche volleyball program signed Kamloops outside hitter, Kamryn Cousins, for the 2019-20 season.

Cousins currently plays for Sa-Hali Secondary School as well as the Kamloops Volleyball Association. She was chosen for the Zone 5 BC Summer Games team in 2016 and has been captain of both her school and club volleyball teams.  As captain, Cousins led her high school team to win the AA Okanagan Championships and her Kamloops Volleyball Association club to gold at Nationals.

"We are very pleased to have Kamryn joining our women's volleyball team," said coach John Swanson. "She possess a natural athletic ability in the outside hitter position and her exceptional passing and defensive skills will allow her to quickly adapt to the collegiate game. Kamryn has already impressed me with her desire and work ethic."

While at College of the Rockies, Cousins will be pursuing an Associate of Science degree with a focus on biology. She hopes to one day attend medical school.

College of the Rockies Avalanche volleyball programs will spend most of the remainder of the season on the road but will play host to the Capilano Blues on January 25 and 26.
