Taylor Whittall, 5'10 Left Side from Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast, has committed to the College of the Rockies for the 2017-18 season. Taylor is in her final year at Elphinstone Secondary. Taylor's team placed 3rd on the North Shore this past season as she was selected as a first team All-star. Taylor is a member of the BCO Elite program out of North Vancouver and her team placed 1st at BC Club Provincials last season and 4th at the Volleyball Canada National Championships in Edmonton.  After the club season finished Taylor continued playing volleyball in the summer with Team BC placing 4th at the National Team Challenge Cup that took place at the Richmond Oval.

Taylor mention "joining the PACWEST conference was really exciting for her because her brother also competes in it for the UFV Cascades". She also mentioned "her brother has always been someone she looked up to and feels very accomplished working her way to the same league as him and being able to compete in the PACWEST". Taylor mentioned "The hardest part in leaving the Sunshine Coast will be having to leave her family, dog, cat, and horse behind but is excited and is looking forward to the new adventure in the East Kootenay's".

Taylor chose College of the Rockies because with just the use of pictures and people's opinions of the school and program she could tell it was the perfect place for her to start off her post-secondary career.  Taylor also mentioned that "coming from a small town, I really appreciate the community feel and involvement that comes along with attending College.  The school size and community make me feel as if the first year transition will be made easier with all the support provided".

Taylor will be working towards her Bachelor of Arts. Taylor mentioned "the school offers awesome courses that are easily transferable to a University where, in the future, I can further my education".
