COTR Avalanche sign Prince George Outside Hitter

College of the Rockies men's Avalanche volleyball team has signed Theo Clark, a 6'6" opposite/outside hitter from Prince George, BC.

Clark, who has played high school volleyball at Duchess Park Secondary and club volleyball with the Prince George Youth Volleyball Club, earned zone all-star awards in 2021 and 2023. His volleyball team has earned the title of zone champions for each of the past three years while his club team were bronze medalists at the 2023 Okanagan 18U Superseries.

"I'm really excited to add Theo Clarke to the Avs men's volleyball team," said coach Cisco Farrero. "Early in this recruiting class we identified a need to continue to add size to our roster and Theo definitely has the size and length to make an impact during his career in the PACWEST. He combines his 6'6 frame with a great work ethic and is a great teammate. Athlete character is important to our team and Theo upholds strong values of teamwork and camaraderie. He also brings exciting positional versatility to our team as in addition to opposite he has middle blocker and outside hitter experience and a great overall skillset as a lefthanded attacker. Theo comes from a top high school and club program in Prince George, is a strong student with a plan to study Kinesiology here at the College, and I can't wait to get him into our gym."

Clark will be joining a very strong Avalanche team; at the time of writing the men's team has held the number one position in the country for five weeks in a row, something that is not lost on him.

"I chose College of the Rockies for their outstanding volleyball program, coaching, and environment," he said. "From the moment I got there for my visit I had a feeling I wasn't going to find a team with better chemistry."

After going into matches against the Vancouver Island University Mariners January 26 and 27, the Avs will travel to Abbotsford to take on the Columbia Bible College's Bearcats before welcoming the Capilano Blues to close out the regular season.
