College of the Rockies Avalanche sign local talent

College of the Rockies men's Avalanche have signed Julius Molnar, a 6 ft. 3.5 in. middle blocker from Cranbrook for the 2022/23 season.

Before joining the Avs, Molnar attended Mt. Baker Secondary School and played with the East Kootenay Volleyball Club.

"Our program has had our eye on Julius for some time now as a key member of this recruiting class," said men's coach Cisco Farrero. "He is a top tier athlete with a great work ethic and has grown tremendously on the court over the past year with MBSS, EKVC and Team BC and I can't wait to get him in our gym and in an Avalanche jersey."

When not on the court, Julius is studying Criminal and Social Justice at the College.

"I chose College of the Rockies because I grew up watching the Avalanche play, and it's always been my dream to be an Av and pursue my education at the College at the same time," Molnar said.

The Avalanche will host their 2022/23 season home opener against the CBC Bearcats on October 21 and 22.
