College of the Rockies sign middle blocker for 2022-23 season

College of the Rockies men's Avalanche have signed Hunter Jacobucci, a 6 ft. 4 in. middle blocker from Winnipeg, Manitoba for the 2022/23 season.

Jacobucci is currently a student at College Sturgeon Heights Collegiate in Winnipeg and plays with the Winman Volleyball Club.

"I think College of the Rockies is a great fit for me academically and athletically," Jacobucci said. "I really like the coach's philosophy and the team dynamic. Also, I'm excited to experience British Columbia in one of it's most amazing cities."

Jacobucci will begin studies at the College in September 2022, studying Kinesiology. Avalanche men's coach Cisco Farrero is looking forward to having him join the team.

"Adding Hunter is really exciting for myself and for our program," he said. "He's a very dynamic athlete at the middle blocker position, he's got a high volleyball IQ, he's been coached well, and he's a very strong student academically. I can't wait to get him in our gym."

PACWEST competition resumed for the 2021/22 season after seeing the 2020/21 season halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Proof of vaccination will be required to attend all games.
