College of the Rockies sign physical setter from Saskatchewan

College of the Rockies men's Avalanche have signed Dylan Annala, a 6 ft. 5 in. setter from Dinsmore, Saskatchewan for the 2021/22 season.

Annala has racked up several notable achievements so far in his playing career. In addition to playing 16u and 17u for the Huskies Volleyball Club, he also played 18u for High and Hittable Volleyball Club. He was a part of the 16u provincial bronze champions as well as the 18u Saskatchewan Cup Champions when he was 17. He was also named MVP of his high school team.

He's looking forward to being a part of the Avalanche and studying in the College's Kinesiology program.

"I chose the College because I feel that it will be a great place for me to develop myself on and off the court," he said. "I admire the drive for success coach Cisco has, as well as his confidence in his players and recruits. I really appreciate how caring he is toward their goals and looks out for what is best for them. The appeal of the College and the City of Cranbrook also influenced my decision and I'm looking forward to my future at College of the Rockies."

"I'm excited to get Dylan into our gym in the fall," said men's coach Cisco Farrero. "He's a physical, well-coached and intelligent setter from a volleyball family. Coming from the Huskies club program in Saskatoon, Dylan is hard-working and fits our future at the setter position. Academically, the Kinesiology program fits Dylan's goals. I'm really looking forward to working with him next season and beyond."

All PACWEST intercollegiate competition has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. College of the Rockies' Avalanche players continue to train in anticipation of the return of competitive action.
