College of the Rockies sign Kelowna outside hitter

College of the Rockies men's Avalanche have signed Ethan Braam, a 6 ft. 4 in. outside hitter from Kelowna, B.C. for the 2021/22 season.

Braam, a 2020 graduate from Kelowna Secondary and member of the Kelowna Volleyball Club. A multi-sport athlete, he has earned both a silver medal in senior boys' provincial volleyball and two silver medals in basketball provincial competition.

"I'm looking forward to having Ethan in our program," said men's coach Cisco Farrero. "He comes from one of the most successful high school boys' programs in B.C. and has been well coached. He is a big and physical outside hitter who plays an intense brand of volleyball. His academic goals line up with our programming here at the College and I look forward to seeing him develop as a PACWEST athlete."

Braam will enroll in the East Kootenay Teacher Education program at the College in fall 2021.

"I chose the College because of their fantastic atmosphere and their drive for success," Braam said. "I feel like their program will not only help me grow as a player but will give me the opportunity to grow as a person."

All PACWEST intercollegiate competition has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. College of the Rockies' Avalanche players continue to train in anticipation of the return of competitive action.
