The Men's Avalanche have signed Kamrin Loitz, a 6'2 outside hitter from Leduc, AB. Loitz is a grade 12 student at Christ the King School where he was awarded Male Athlete of the Year in both 2018 and 2019. He also received back-to-back league honors as a Metro Athletics All-Star.

For the past two years, Loitz has also been a member of the Nooks Volleyball Club. In their most recent season, he helped lead the team to a bronze medal at Premier 1.

"I chose College of the Rockies because I believed it was the best fit for me both academically, with their Kinesiology program, and athletically, with the volleyball program," Loitz said. "I feel privileged to be joining a younger team with a great coach. Coach Farrero has a great coaching philosophy and I believe that moving forward, we have a legitimate chance at a provincial title. I really want to be a part of that."

"I'm really excited to add Kam to our program," said men's coach Cisco Farrero. "He's an athletic, high energy outside who can contribute at both left and right side. He's got an offensive game that translates well to the PACWEST, and with his hard-working nature I'm really excited to watch him develop within our program."

College of the Rockies' Avalanche volleyball program will kick-off the 2020/2021 season in October.
