College of the Rockies women’s Avalanche add a pair of setters

College of the Rockies' women's Avalanche are excited to announce the signing of Brooke Schoonbaert and Sami Janzen for the 2019/2020 season.

Schoonbaert, a five-foot, seven-inch Setter from Brandon, Manitoba currently attends Vincent Massey High School and plays for the Cats Volleyball Club. She was named the Most Valuable Player for Vincent Massey for two consecutive years, and was twice named the Most Valuable Athlete Provincial All Star. Most recently she was named a Manitoba High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Graduating All Star.

Janzen, also a five-foot, seven-inch Setter, hails from Surrey, B.C. where she currently attends Semiahmoo Secondary and plays for Fraser Valley Volleyball Club. While attending College of the Rockies, Janzen will be enrolled in the University Studies: Sciences program.

"I chose College of the Rockies because it has everything I am looking for in a school: a small community, cold weather and a lovely campus," Janzen said.
