The College of the Rockies male volleyball Athlete of the Week is Hunter Jacobucci
Hunter, a 2nd year middle blocker from Winnipeg, MB had two extremely efficient performances against the Capilano Blues as the Avalanche closed out their regular season with a 16-4 record. Hunter totalled 16 kills with just 1 error on 20 total attack attempts and added 10 digs, 4 blocks and 3 aces over the two matches. On Friday Hunter made 7 kills, 1 error on 10 attempts with 3 aces, 1 block and 3 digs in the four-set loss to the Blues. On Saturday Hunter was instrumental in a 3-0 win with 9 kills on 10 attempts,3 blocks, and a career high 7 digs.
“Hunter is a perfectionist and a pro in the way he prepares for a game and trains,” said coach Cisco Farrero. “His day-to-day routine is meticulous and finely tuned. This weekend he was the most efficient he has ever been in his Avalanche career. On Friday with a younger group of teammates on the floor, Hunter was our most consistent server from the baseline. On a team with several standout players, Hunter was our best player all weekend. His work-ethic and consistency have prepared himself to have these kinds of performances and our team wouldn’t have the same success without him.”
